Abstract

In this study, researchers conducted a study associated with the globe of education, namely the method of teaching and learning English at MAN 4 Kediri. In Indonesia, English is that the most vital foreign language and is loved by many of us after Indonesian. the utilization of English isn't only important in education, it's also important in other fields. within the past, English was commonly learned at school and was of little interest to several people. Nowadays English is more and more demanded and learned by many of us. the aim of this study is to search out out what curriculum and methods teachers use in teaching English and to seek out out how teachers evaluate the results of teaching and learning English within the classroom. In this study, researchers used qualitative methods. Qualitative research is research that's useful for understanding what, how, when, and also where the action is helpful for establishing a meaning, concept, and definition. Qualitative research serves to know the actions of the topic and object to be studied. the themes of this study were one instructor and 97 students of grade 11 science. Then the researcher's data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. This study uses triangulation of knowledge sources and triangulation techniques in data collection so on obtain valid data. The stages of teaching and learning English at MAN 4 Kediri are ranging from opening activities, core activities, and shutting activities. The curriculum used is that the 2013 curriculum. additionally, in teaching and learning English the teacher uses a spread of learning strategies. Most of the educational strategies employed by teachers are learning supported assignment techniques. observe the syllabus, see the fabric that has been delivered at the previous meeting, reconnect the fabric that has been explained previously with the fabric taught that day. Then in evaluating the results of the scholar learning process within the classroom the teacher uses formative evaluation. Formative evaluation could be a form of evaluation employed by teachers to enhance and enhance the teaching and learning process. There are several indicators or signs of success employed by MAN 4 Kediri teachers. These indicators include a minimum of 90% of scholars who can do the evaluation, for follow-up students who haven't completed are given repetition or other assignments to be used as a results of teaching after the educational process.
