Abstract

Reading is the process of getting meaning from text. The procedure entails decoding written content, which readers mostly do. Some people require adjustments, such as braille or authorization, to complete the decoding process. The objective of this research is to know The Correlation between Students’ Online Reading Interest and Reading Comprehension of The Seventh Grade Students of Junior High School 5 Kediri. The method used in this study was a quantitative approach and the technique used in this study was a correlational study. The population of this research is 365 students. While the collect the data, researcher take 30% students from class C,D, and G, which mean around 110 students take as a sample. In collecting the data, the researcher used questionnaire to measure students’ online reading interest and test for the students’ reading comprehension. The result of this study, researcher used Pearson correlation with SPSS ver 25 for windows. Correlation between students’ online reading interest and reading comprehension of the value sig. (2-tailed) is 0.00 ( 0.00 < 0.05), it means Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. While for the pearson correlation between students’ online reading interest and reading comprehension was 0.407 means that both of variables have avarage moderate correlation.
