Abstract

E-learning platform refers to the use of information and communication technologies in the various processes of education to support and improve learning in educational institution, including the use of information and communication technology to complete teaching learning methods whether in traditional classroom, online learning or mixing between two methods. The aims of this study are: to identify the students’ perception and students’ problem face in using e-learning platform. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The data were obtained by analyzing the result of the questionnaire from 69 students and interview from 6 students. The stages of data analysis are coding, data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusion. This study involved 69 students of English Language Education Department, Tarbiyah Faculty State Islamic Institute (IAIN) of Kediri. The finding reveals the students’ perception on the implementation of ELearning platform based on four terms. In term of interactivity, the students have high interest. They reveal that they can interact and share the assignment with their friend easily. Next, in term of independency, the students also have high interest. They reported that using E-Learning platform saves time and effort. Moreover, in term of accessibility, the students have high interest as they mostly agree that it is easy to use E-Learning platform. Meanwhile, in term of enrichment, the students have fair interest. The majorities of students either agree or disagree that using E-Learning platform can motivate them to learn more and enrich their knowledge. Furthermore, the finding also shows that the students’ problem in using E-Learning is confirmed as fair. The majority of students reveal that they need lecturers’ guidance or explanation in using E-Learning platform. Moreover, only few students face difficulties in the internet connection.
