Abstract
The teaching strategy during the Covid 19 pandemic is certainly difference from the strategy that was usually carried out before the pandemic. The teachers inevitably have to apply and adapt to e-learning media. This research focused on the strategy used by teachers’ in teaching English with the e-learning. This study aimed at answering the following research questions: (1) What are the English teacher’s strategies in teaching English on e-learning?, (2) To what extent of the strategies help the teachers manage English learning? This research was descriptive qualitative research that focuses on the strategies in teaching English on e-learning at MTsN 4 Kediri. The subject of this study was seventh grade English teacher they are T1 (QZ), T2 (SW), T3 (S). The technique of collecting data were observation checklist, interview, and documentation. The instrument could be form of observation checklist, interview guided, and documentation. The researcher analyze data with coding, data reduction, data display, and Conclusion. The result of the study show that (1) Teachers use the same strategy that are the first teacher’s prepares learning materials that will be taught to students in the form of videos uploaded by YouTube teacher’s and teachers open learning in WhatsApp groups by sharing learning video links. The English teachers use facilitated/instructor-led for e-learning approach. The method used by teacher’s is asynchronous. With e-learning components to support the implementation of learning include, content, e-tutoring, collaborative learning and virtual classroom. But, the teacher’s have different strategies for collecting assignments and exams by using WhatsApp, Linktree, Google forms, and Quizizz for exams. (2) Strategies in teaching through e-learning can help teachers in managing classes on English language learning to achieve learning objectives.
