Abstract

Writing is an activity in which people transfer their ideas into written form. The goal of writing is the students are able to write in good sentences. This research involved qualitative study especially CAR (Classroom Action Research). The aim of this study was to improve writing skill of students through Padllet as teaching media. This research was conducted in SMK Global Mandiri Tarokan which is located at Jl. Raya Tarokan No.01.Ds.Kaliboto Kec.Tarokan Kab.Kediri Jatim. The research subjects were thirty students in X Multimedia at SMK Global Mandiri Tarokan. The data of this study was collect by using test and observation sheet. The objective of this research was to know and explain how Padlet can improve students’ writing skill on descriptive text at SMK Global Mandiri Tarokan. This research consisted of two cycles. The result of cycle showed that there were students who did not pass the post-test. It was because some students did not understand yet, they do not ask to their teacher or discuss with their friend if they got difficulty. It means that criteria of success do not reached yet and researcher continue to the next cycle. In the cycle II the researcher explained more about material. The result of cycle II showed that 25 students pass the test and 5 students did not pass the post-test. The result of students’ writing skill improvement was supported by the result of the test score. The mean score of every test in cycle showed the improvement. The improvement can be seen from the mean score was 59.5 in pre-test improved into 71.6 in post-test cycle I and improved into 83.1 in post-test cycle II. From the observation, the researcher founded that students got improvement after conducted Padlet in learning process. The students have more attention to the teacher’s instruction and they wanted to ask their problems in writing such as understanding material, grammar, and vocabularies. The result of the research showed that Padlet could improve students’ writing skill on descriptive text at tenth grade of SMK Global Mandiri Tarokan.
