Abstract
Nowadays, technology has very important role in our lives. It can be used as online learning media. Besides the ease of using online learning media, it is much needed for learning during pandemic covid-19. One of the online learning media that can be used today is YouTube. The purpose of this study is to investigate the students‟ perception in using YouTube of learning English during online class. This study is quantitative research with a survey design using a questionnaire as an instrument to collect the data. The questionnaire consist of 16 items. The researcher analyzed the data by counting the percentage and the mean of students‟ answer in each part of the questionnaire. This study involved 128 of second grade students in SMK PGRI 1 Kediri in academic year 2020-2021. The result of this study showed that learning English through YouTube gets positive perceptions from the students. The researcher found that YouTube is useful, YouTube is effective media during online class and YouTube also can improve motivated and passionate to learning English. The difficulties that faced by students are poor internet connection and cannot communicate privately. The solution that faced by students are looking for good connection. Therefore, YouTube can be used in learning English for students of SMK PGRI 1 Kediri.
