Abstract

Nowadays, the whole world is shocked by the Corona Virus. In Indonesia, the government provided several instructions regarding to COVID-19 pandemic. One of the instructions for doing activity at home is learning activity. The use of online learning is one way to overcome these obstacles. Online learning can be used for all courses. One of the courses is English. The example of online learning platform is E-Learning Madrasah. By implementing E-Learning Madrasah, teachers and students can get information and carry out the online learning to be more structured, interactive, and interesting. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate students’ perceptions on the use of E-Learning Madrasah for Learning English. The study was conducted using a quantitative approach and used survey research as a research design. This research used participant in Eleventh Grade of MAN 3 Blitar that consist of 288. For the sample, it took 30% of students which are 86 students as the sample of the study. Close-ended questionnaire is the instrument of this study. The data obtained through four-point of Likert scale and reported in percentage. The finding of this research shows that the students’ perception on the use of E-Learning Madrasah for learning English is very positive. From three aspects contained in the questionnaire, it is found that in the first aspect, from a total sample of 86 students, 83% of students have a very positive perception on the students’ experience toward E-Learning Madrasah for Learning English. The second aspect, 76.5% of students have a very positive perception on the feature toward E-Learning Madrasah for learning English. The third aspect, 74.6% of students have a positive perception in aspect advantages and disadvantages toward E-Learning Madrasah for learning English. On the other hand, 68.2% of students have a negative perception in this aspect. E-Learning also has some disadvantage, namely network of E-Learning Madrasah is often unstable. The last aspect, 82% of students have a positive perception in aspect E-Learning Madrasah for learning English. In summary, E-Learning Madrasah is learning platform that could make students interested and motivated in online learning especially in English course.
