Abstract

ISNAINI, Advisor Drs. Agus Edy Winarto, and Dra. Nurul Ain: The Implementation of KTSP and 2013 Curriculum at MTsN Kediri 2, English Departement, Faculty of Education, STAIN Kediri, 2015. Key words: 2013 Curriculum, KTSP, implementation, problem The issue on the implementation of 2013 and KTSP curriculum in educational system in junior high school has been widely discussed lately. As a matter of fact, the teaching English in Indonesia was started many years ago. In education, formal English subject is started from Junior High School but nowadays, learning English is started in the earlier stage of learning. In 2013 curriculum reap many problems, since the turn of the entire cabinet government, the most important thing that becomes the object of attention is the lifting of the curriculum in 2013 and the using back of KTSP 2006. Curriculum 2013 itself is a new curriculum implemented by the government to replace the KTSP 2006, which has been in effect less six years. Curriculum 2013 included in the experiment in 2013 by making some schools into schools experiment. Therefore, this study is aimed at finding how the implementation of 2013 and KTSP curriculum in learning process along with the problems that might hinder the teacher in presenting the materials. This qualitative design involves waka kurikulum, English teachers and the students of class seven and eight of MTs N 2 Kediri. In this regard, waka kurikulum becomes the main reference on the implementation of different curriculum at different level of study while the teacher involvement in this study is aimed at finding the problems that faced by the teachers when conducting the class with different curriculum. Students' involvement aims at giving clarification toward the interview with the English teachers at different level of the study. The result of the of the study yields that the implementation of 2013 curriculum implemented in class seven is different from the implementation of KTSP in class eight. In this regard, the difference of the implementation of two curriculums involves some aspects such as the material presenting in the learning process and the learning assessment used to know the students' progress in learning English. Since the implementation of two curriculums is presented in the different ways, the problems of curriculum implementation are different from 2013 curriculum toward KTSP curriculum. This study is expected to give big contribution toward the current issues on different curriculum implemented at different level of study. Besides, by conducting this study, the researcher expects that this study will help the teachers to solve the problems in curriculum implementation and to make the students get more understanding by presenting the material that can attract students' interest in learning English.
