Husnul A'yuni. 2015. Improving Speaking Skill by Using Team Games Tournament Method (TGT) at the class VII F of MTs N Model Pare. Thesis. English department faculty of education. State College for Islamic Studies. Advisor (1) Dr. Mukhammad Abdullah, M. Ag. (2) Moh. Muhyidin, M. Pd. Key word: Speaking skill, Team Games Tournament, improving. The purpose of conducting this class room action research in which was used Team Games Tournament method were: The teacher can improve the strategy and the quality of learning speaking. The teacher discovers an appropriate way to improve the speaking skill using Team Games Tournament Method. The students can improve their speaking skill. This research used qualitative approach to get the data and to do the analysis. The research was conducted at MTs N Model Pare. The subject of the research was the students of class VII F at the academic year 2014-2015. They were chosen as the subject of the study because in the MTS N Model Pare at the first grade was focused on speaking skill. The total students of the class were 36 students. The research instruments were test, observation checklist, and discussion. The test employed a set of questions that related to certain material. Observation was used observation checklist to obtain the data about the students' participation during the teaching and learning process. Discussion with collaborator used the observations result. The researcher analyzed the descriptively data obtained from each cycle of CAR. Then the researcher found out the trend occurred during the teaching and learning process. The first cycle of the class room action research was not successful. Because there were 21 students were failed to get 75 in their score and 15 others were successful to get 75. It means 58.3% of the students failed and 41.7% of the students were successful to reach the target score. The result of second cycle was 6 students were failed to get 75 in their score and 30 others were successful to get 75. It means 16.7% of the students failed and 83.3% of the students were successful to reach the target score. Therefore, it could be concluded that the class room action research in the second cycle was successful and using TGT method can increase the students speaking skill. From the result of implementation TGT at the class VII F of MTs N Model Pare, Using Team Games Tournament method (TGT) to improve speaking skill is successful.
