Abstract
Alaina Titi Arum San Arifin 2015. Using Series of Pictures to improve The Speaking Ability of The First Grade Students of Man Prambon Noe Thesis English department faculty of education, State College for blanic Studies. Advisor (1) De Mokhamad Abdullah, M.Ag (2) Moh. Muhyidin, M.P Key word: Speaking skill, Series of Pictures method, Improving The title of this research is Using Series of Pictures Improve The Speaking Ability of The First Grade Students of Mas Prambon Nganjuk. I did this CAR in MAN Prambon Nganjuk. It can he seen from the result of the pre test swhere the percentage of the students just reached 13.33% The purpose of conducting this class room action research in shoch was used series of pictures technique were: The tracher can improve the strategy and the quality of learning speaking. The teacher discovers an appropriate way to improve the speaking skill using drill method. The students can improve their speaking skill This research used quantitative approach to get the data and to do the analysis. The rescurch was conducted at MAN Prambon Nganjuk. The subject of the research was the students of clan X-4 at the academic year 2014-2015. They were chosen as the subject of the staly because the students were not able to express ideas and content, make a good organization, we the correct language, and use fluent delivery. Furthermore, the stadium were passive in class and some were bored. The total students of the clam were 32 students The research instruments were test, observation, and discussion. The test employed series of pictures to discuss and practice maka story orally. Observation was used observation checklist to obtain the data about the students' participation during the teaching and learning process. Discussion with collaborator used the observations result. The researcher analyzed the descriptively data obtained from each cycle of CAR. Then the researcher found out the trend occurred during the teaching and learning process. The first cycle of the class room action research was not successful. Because there were 15 out of 32 students were failed to get 75 in their evaluation test and 17 others were successful in get 75. It means 40% of the students failed and 53% of the students were successful to reach the target score. The result of second cycle was 4 out of 32 students were failed to get 75 in their evaluation test and 28 others were successful to get 75. It means 12.5% of the students failed and 87% of the students were successful to reach the target score. Therefore, it could be concluded thust the claus room action research in the second cycle was successful and aning series of pictures technique zan increase the students speaking skill The students activities from the first cycle to the second cycle were consistent to keep these good activities. Therefore, it can be concluded that the students did 100% of the activities during the implementation of the Series of Pictures Technique
