Abstract

Key words: Drilling Method, Vocabulary. MTs Nurul "Ula To understand English vocabulary is very important for English learners. In addition, to teach vocabulary mastery of junior high school students is not easy way. The teacher must find out an appropriate method or technique to make students feel enjoyable. The objective of this research is to know whether or not drilling method in teaching vocabulary for the second-grade students of MTs Nurul 'ULA. This study uses quantitative design. This study is an experimental research because the research conducts some experiments by giving some treatment to the subject of the study to know the effectiveness of teaching vocabulary using drilling method by comparing two groups of study (experimental and control group) in Mts Nurul 'Ula Jamsaren Kota Kediri. The result of the tests was analyzed by using t-test formula in this experiment. The result of t-test is then must be compared with the degree of freedom. The degree of freedom is 68 and 0,05 is 2,81. The score of t-test is higher than t-table: (3.29> 2,81) it means that the treatment is successful. The hypothesis 1 (Ha) "Drilling in teaching vocabulary for the second grade of MTs Nurul 'Ula is effective" is accepted. Therefore we have enough evidence to reject the hypothesis 0 (Ho) "Drilling in teaching vocabulary for the second-grade students of MTs nurul 'ula is not effective"
