Indriani, Silvy. 2023. Students’ Ability in Writing Narrative Text at The Eleventh Grade of SMAN 6 Kediri. Thesis, English Department, Faculty of Education. Institute of Islamic Studies at Kediri. Advisor: (I) Bahruddin M.Pd (II) Annisa Aulia Saharani, M.Pd.Key Words: Narrative Text, Students Ability, Writing.This research is to find out students' ability in writing narrative text. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method. The participants for this study were students of SMAN 6 Kediri with 34 students as a participants. Researcher used tests to obtain research data. This research has five components such as content, organization, grammar, vocabulary and mechanic. The result of this research students' ability in writing narrative text shows the largest student data at a percentage of 47%. This is proven by 16 students getting the "good" category (score 61-80) with the highest score of 79 and the lowest was 65. In the "excellent" category (score 81-100) was in the second largest position, getting 29% by 10 students with the highest score of 100 and the lowest was 82. Furthermore, in the "average" category, 15% (score 41-60) was obtained by 5 students with the highest score was 56 and the lowest was 46. And the last 9% in the "poor" category (score 21-40) by 3 students, with the highest score was 40 and the lowest was 35. Based on the representation data in this research the student's ability in writing narrative texts is classified as (61-80), which is good category.
