Abstract
YULI INDAH KURNIAWATI, Advisor NALSA CINTYA RESTI, M.Si. and AGUS MIFTAKUS SURUR, S.Si, M.Pd., Analysis of Non-Routine Mathematical Problem Solving Ability in Trigonometry Material in terms of Adversity Quotient (AQ) Level of Students in Class X MIPA SMA Negeri 6 Kediri, Thesis. Tadris Mathematics Study Program, Faculty Tarbiyah, IAIN KEDIRI, 2024. Keywords: Mathematical Problem Solving Ability, Non-Routine Problems, Trigonometry Material, Adversity Quotient This research aims to describe the Mathematics Problem Solving abilities of students at SMA Negeri 6 Kediri in solving non-routine type mathematics problems in Trigonometry material in terms of the Adversity Quotient. This type of research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The research location was carried out at SMA Negeri 6 Kediri. The research subjects in this study were students of class X-MIPA 1 SMA Negeri 6 Kediri, with a total of 32 students. Data collection techniques consist of administering ARP questionnaires, administering Problem Solving ability tests, and interviews. The data collection instrument consists of an Adversity Quotient questionnaire sheet, a Problem Solving ability test sheet, and an interview guide. To check the validity of the data, this research uses persistent observation and triangulation. Data analysis in this research uses stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The data collection procedure started from giving an Adversity Quotient questionnaire, then giving a Problem Solving ability test of 2 questions to 32 X-MIPA 1 students who had previously been validated. The results of the Adversity Quotient tests and questionnaires were analyzed and produced 6 student subjects consisting of 3 climbers and 3 campers and there were no quitter students for interviews. The results of the research show that students with a high level of Adversity Quotient (Climber) can solve 2 non-routine type questions and fulfill the Problem Solving ability indicators: understanding the problem in the high category, preparing a plan in the high category, implementing the plan in the medium category, and checking again in the medium category Students with a moderate Adversity quotient (Camper) can solve 2 non-routine type questions and meet the Problem Solving ability indicators: understanding the problem, preparing a plan, implementing the plan, and checking again, each of which is in the high category.
