Abstract
The learning and learning process is inseparable from various difficulties or problems faced by students in receiving subject matter, especially certain subjects such as Arabic, many students have not been able to be active and think critically in learning Arabic. And in classroom learning itself there are still many students who feel afraid when practicing arguing in front of their friends. In addressing these problems, the researcher is interested in researching using the application of the think pair share research model to improve critical thinking skills in Arabic language learning for students in class VII MTsN 4 Mojokerto. Which aims to find out how or the application and effectiveness of the think pair share model to improve the critical thinking skills of Arabic language learning of students in class VII MTsN 4 Mojokerto. This research includes a quantitative approach with the type of quasi experiment. The design used in this research is pretest-posttest control group desing, where this design uses two groups, namely the experimental group and the control group. The data collection techniques are interviews, tests, documentation, and observation. This research instrument is in the form of Pretest and Posttest. The population of this study was all class VIII MTsN 4 Mojokerto and the samples used were 34 experimental class students and 31 control class students. The results of this study indicate that the application of paired reasoning in the experimental class received a positive response from students, namely students were enthusiastic in paying attention to every explanation given by the researcher regarding the use of paired reasoning, and students felt happy and enthusiastic during the learning process. Starting from the planning stage, then the application stage using paired thinking, and then evaluating the application that has been completed so that the next application goes well. The results of this study indicate that the application of the dyadic thinking engagement model in the experimental class and control class has a significant difference with a Sig value. (2-tailed) 0.023 <0.05, which means that there is an effect of the application of the dyadic thinking engagement model on improving critical thinking skills in Arabic language learning for class VII students of MTsN 4 Mojokerto. Effectiveness shows that the average value of the experimental class of 62% is included in the very effective category, and it can be said that the use of dyadic thinking engagement method is very effective in improving critical thinking skills in Arabic language learning of VII grade students of MTsN 4 Mojokerto.
