Abstract
Vocabulary is the important elements to be learned in English language. English language ability is not complete without having enough vocabulary. Vocabulary notebook is one of strategy that can be applied in learning process. The researche problem of this research as how to improve vocabulary, using a vocabulary notebook assignment for eighth grade students at SMPN 1 Semen? This research aimed to improve students’ vocabulary mastery using vocabulary notebook assignment on the eighth grade students at SMPN 1 Semen in the academic year 2022/2023. This research used classroom action research (CAR) as the reseach design. It included two cycles to enrich students vocabulary mastery. The data were collected by testing, observation and documentation. The data was analyzed by the everage of students’ score, the percentage of the students’ success, and the result of the observation sheets. The result above, it can be concluded that vocabulary notebook could improve students vocabulary mastery at eighth grade students of SMPN 1 Semen in the academic year 2022/2023.
