ABSTRACT Murida, Shuniya. 2023. “The Correlation Between Students’ English Learning Motivation And Their Reading Comprehension Skill” Thesis, Department Of English Language Education, Faculty of Tarbiyah, State Islamic Institute (IAIN) of Kediri, Advisors: (I) Mohammad Muhyidin, M. Pd, (II) Bahruddin, S.S., M. Pd. Keywords: Learning Motivation , Reading Comprehension. This study aims to determine the correlation between students' English learning motivation and their reading comprehension skills of eighth grade at SMP N 1 Ngasem. kediri, whether there is any correlation between students' English learning motivation and reading comprehension. The research used quantitative research design especially correlational by using SPSS ver 25.0 windows. For taking the data, it used a questionnaire and test. Questionnaire used to obtain the value of students’ English learning motivation, while the test used to obtain value of students’ reading comprehension skill. Eight – grade Students’ of SMP N 1 Ngasem take as a sample of this study, which around 32 students. Before administered the instrument, researcher did try out measure the validity and reliability of the instrument. By conducting a research, it has been found with certainly some main points relevant to the result. The value of Sig. (2-tailed) is .000.
