Developing A Joyful Islamic Character Based Pop Up Book for Elementary Students’ English Literacy.Thesis, Department of English Language Education, Faculty of Education and Teacher Training, State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Kediri , Advisor: (1) Dr. Ary Setya Budhi Ningrum, M.Pd and (2) Dewi Nur Suci, M.Pd. Pop-up book learning media is considered to have a special attraction for students because it is able to present visualizations with forms made by folding, moving and appearing so as to provide surprises and admiration for students when opening each page. This study develops Pop Up book to help students make easy to study about the material of english lesson especially in literacy. The book that the current research develop is a three-dimensional book , the mean is the learning activity not only transfring about the knowledge but give and understand about character values in self student and make them interest in learing english. Some schools especially in elementary school level seldom find the materials teaching to practice the literacy concept, so the objectives of this research is developing A joyful pop up book as the material for elementary students’ English literacy. Based on the research objectives it, this reserch uses the method of research and development adopted Borg and Gall model. The stage of research are exploration, planning, developing product, validating product, revising product, and product trial. The subject of assessment this product is material and language expert, media expert, and students of 4th grade in MI PSM Tempursari Mojo Kediri. The result of this study shows that to know the feasible and validity of product development conducted assessment from experts and students. The results of assessment are 1) validation from material and language expert get 87,3%, the criteria is good product, it is valid and not need to be revision, 2) validation from media expert get 96%, the criteria is better product, it is very valid and not need to be revision, 3) assessment from student of product trial get 87,62%, the criteria is good product, the meaning is valid and not need to be revision. Based on the finding, the current research is concluded this study hopefully can help student to understand about english lesson, so the student can improve their motivation to study english using three-dimensional as form pop up book.
