The purpose of this research was to determine the levels of students' speaking anxiety in the public speaking class of the English Department at IAIN Kediri and the dominant level of students' speaking anxiety in the public speaking class of the English Department at IAIN Kediri. A quantitative approach was used in this research with a survey design. The instrument used is the Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale (FLCAS) questionnaire adapted by Horwitz et al. (1986) to measure students' speaking anxiety levels and to determine the dominant anxiety level that occurs in the public speaking class. The sample in this research was 102 students taking public speaking courses who had filled out the questionnaire completely. The data was analyzed using the theory from Horwitz and calculated using IBM SPSS Statistics version 24. The results of this research showed that students in the public speaking class of the English Department at IAIN Kediri in the 2021/2022 academic year have different levels of anxiety. The researcher found that there were 2 (2%) students who experienced speaking anxiety at the “Anxious” level, 35 (34%) students experienced speaking anxiety at the “Mildly Anxious” level, 51 (50%) students were at the “Relaxed” level, and 14 (14%) students are at the "Very Relaxed" level. The dominant level of students’ speaking anxiety experienced by students in the public speaking class of the English Department at IAIN Kediri in the 2021/2022 academic year is at the “Relaxed” level as proven by 51 students who had to fill the questionnaire. There are several aspects that can affect the level of students' speaking anxiety in English classes, including less interested in English lessons, age, less practice, and gender.
