Abstract
Keywords: Anxiety, Learning, Speaking The focus of this research was on the phenomenon of speaking anxiety experienced by students at the Basic level at LKP Endemic Tanjunganom. The purpose of this study was to determine the level and factors that influenced students' anxiety in learning to speak English. The subjects of this study were 43 students at the Basic level at the LKPEndemic Tanjunganom in 2022. This study used a qualitative method with a case study approach. The instruments used in this study were questionnaires and interviews. Questionnaires adapted from Horwitz, Horwitz and Cope FLCAS were given to participants. There were 33 statements, each of which represents a source of anxiety experienced by students. The data analysis process was divided into three steps, Miles and Huberman (2394) data reduction, data display, then drawing conclusions and validation. The results of this study indicated that there were four levels of anxiety in students. There were 2 students with very anxious level of anxiety, 23 students with anxious level, 12 students with mildly anxious level, and the last 6 students with relaxed level. From the results of the study, there were three factors that cause anxiety in students' speaking, namely communication apprehension, test anxiety, and fear of negative evaluation.
