Abstract
In 2019, Indonesia's Minister of Education and Culture, Nadiem Anwar Makarim, introduced a new educational concept called Merdeka Belajar. Due to the transition from the old curriculum to the Merdeka Belajar curriculum, teachers face numerous challenges and difficulties when implementing Merdeka Belajar. So in this study, the researcher proposes the relevance between the Merdeka Belajar policy and the Among Ki Hajar Dewantara system. The purpose of this research is to open a discourse that by learning more about the Among System, teachers can implement the Merdeka Belajar policy effectively. This research is a library research by exploring the thoughts of Ki Hajar Dewantara through primary and secondary references that are still relevant to the research theme. The reference is then processed by the content analysis method. The type of research that will be used in this research is a descriptive qualitative approach. The type of triangulation used is source triangulation. The results of the study show that there is a relevance between the Merdeka Belajar policy and the Among system. First, Among system is a family-oriented education system that is based on the natural nature and independence. Second, Merdeka Belajar is a concept that give freedom for students and teachers to think, innovate, be creative, and improvise to produce something so as to create a fun and enjoy learning atmosphere. And third is the relevance of Panca Dharma with the essence of Merdeka Belajar, and the relevance of Tringa with the replacement of the National Examination and National Standard School Examination and the relevance of the Tri Loka with Guru Penggerak (Mover Teacher) and the simplification of Learning Implementation Plan. The Among system is the basis for the formation of the Merdeka Belajar policy. Education that is open and does not force students. Thus, the results of this literature research show that there is a fundamental relevance to the Merdeka Belajar policy with the Among system proposed by the Father of Indonesian Education, namely Ki Hajar Dewantara.
