Abstract

English has four skill and they are divided in two parts, receptie and productive skills. Writing is one of productive skills in English. Writing is an important language skill for students to learn.Writing is a skill to expose facts and ideas which are interpretend in a cleary, effectively, and regular. There are many technique to improve writing ability. One of them is outline tehnique. Outline Tehnique can make students feel easy to express and organize their idea because outline tehnique is formal plan for a paragraph.This study deals with the improvment of the students‟ achivement by using outline tehnique. This research was conductd by applysing classroom action research in one cycle. This research was done at grade X MIA 2 of SMAN 4 Kediri Academic year 2020/2021. In classroom action research, there are several steps of action research planning, action, observation, and reflection. Researcher use Classroom Action Research to solve their classroom problem practices to get students‟ better English achievement, because they feel that writing paragraph is difficult and they have no ideas to develop their sentences. From the findings and discussion the result of the test in this research is outline tehnique can improve students' writing ability it can be seen from the results of cycle test-2 which shows an increase in student scores. The criteria of success were 75%-100%.This test is said to be successful if the student gets a score of 75 and the average student score is 75 and the percentage of students passing is 75%. In the Prelimanary test, the mean score was 63,47 and in Cycle test-2 it increased to 80,41. In Prelimanary test there were 8 of students passed and 26 of students were failed. Than in Cycle test there were 29 of students passed and 5 of students were failed. It meant that teaching writing through outline can improved students‟ writing skill.
