Abstract
In early 2020, several countries in the world, particularly Indonesia, were experiencing problems that changed activities that impacted aspects of life caused by a virus Covid-19. The existence of current pandemic all sectors are affected especially educational of field. All of learning begins face to face becomes online. Thus, all of students, teachers, lecturers, and educators conduct learning process through online learning. But, indeed the current technology increasingly sophisticated. The research is aimed to describe students’ attitude toward WhatsApp as learning media in writing course. The objective of this research The method of this research is survey design. The data was gathered from questionnaire and interview. The researcher used close-ended questionnaire to the students. There are 45 students answering questionnaire and there are 5 students answering deep interview from the researcher. This research was conducted in Second semester of English Department students of IAIN Kediri in the academic year of 2020/2021. The result of this research shows that students have good attitude toward the use of WhatsApp. From the three aspects contained in the questionnaire, the findings reveal that the interval frequencies of students’ attitude in cognitive aspect was 72%. Whereas students’ attitude in affective aspect was 78%, and students’ attitude in behavioral aspect shows the percentages was 77%. This score is classified as “Good”. Therefore, students’ attitude toward WhatsApp as learning media in writing course is classified as “Good” of all aspects. good attitude came from their experiences in online learning process. The use of WhatsApp is effective platform and easy to operate in online learning.
