Abstract

Textbook is the important part of teaching and learning process. Almost all the schools used English books entitled "Bahasa Inggris" from the Ministry of Education and Culture for class XI high school students. The researcher conducted a study to find out what level of Revised Bloom's Taxonomy is mostly used in designing reading comprehension questions in textbook publised by Kemendikbud. The research method used is descriptive qualitative wherefore researcher will discribe it qualitatively in reading questions.The researcher used theory of Revised Bloom’s Taxonomy applied to know what level mostly used in designing the textbook’s reading comprehension questions. The researcher collected and listed the reading comprehension questions and then calculated the percentage and frequencies of each level. After the steps are done, the results showed that the most used level in english textbook's was Higher order thinking sills (HOTS) it was found 67% reading comprehension questions are categorized as HOTS while 33% is for Lower Order Thinking Skills (LOWS) coprehension question. Based on the findings, it reveals that most of these questions are emphasized on HOTS especially on Evaluating level with the percentage of 45%. It means that the writers of the textbook expect the students of eleventh grade can think critically, creatively and logically.
