Abstract
ABSTRACT Moech. Yusuf Dimas W. 21203051. 2025. "Ibn Khaldun’s Perspective on the Urgency of Education and Its Relevance to Arabic Language Learning." Undergraduate Thesis. Arabic Language Education Program, Faculty of Tarbiyah, State Islamic Institute of Kediri. Supervisor 1: Dr. Yuyun Zunairoh, M.Pd. Supervisor 2: Eko Budi Hartanto, S.Hum., M.Pd.I. This study aims to examine Ibn Khaldun’s perspective on the urgency of education and its relevance to Arabic language education in the New Normal era. Ibn Khaldun is a prominent classical Islamic thinker, widely recognized as the father of sociology and philosophy of history, with his seminal work al-Muqaddimah. This research employs a qualitative library research method with a descriptive-analytical approach. The findings reveal that Ibn Khaldun views education as a continuous social and spiritual process, not merely the transmission of knowledge. He emphasizes the importance of intellect, experience, and a gradual learning process. His views also affirm that the Arabic language is not only a medium of communication but also the key to understanding the primary sources of Islam. In the context of the New Normal era, Ibn Khaldun’s thought remains highly relevant in formulating an adaptive Arabic language education system in response to the dynamics of time and technology.
