Abstract

Nadhimurridlo Al-Alwany. 21203066. 2025. "The Effectiveness of Using the Quthrub Application to Improve Students’ Understanding of Tasrif Lughowi in Arabic Texts at Pondok Pesantren Az-Zainiyyah Banyakan Kediri" Undergraduate Thesis, Department of Arabic Language Education, Faculty of Tarbiyah, State Islamic Institute of Kediri. Supervisor 1: Dr. Umar Faruq, S.Ag., M.Fil.I., Supervisor 2: Muhammad Sholeh Afyuddin, S.H.I., M.Pd.I. This study aims to examine how the Quthrub application is implemented to enhance students’ understanding of Tasrif Lughowi (Arabic verb conjugation), as well as to determine the effectiveness of its use at Pondok Pesantren Az-Zainiyyah, Banyakan Kediri. The research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using the Non-Equivalent Pretest and Posttest Control Group Design model. The research population consisted of 30 middle-level students, with a sample of 15 students for the experimental class and 15 students for the control class. The research instrument was a test, and the data analysis involved normality tests, homogeneity tests, independent t-tests, and N-Gain tests. The results showed that the use of the Quthrub application made the tasrif learning process more active and effective. Students learned by inputting root words into the application and selecting the required verb forms, thereby accelerating their independent understanding of tasrif patterns. The data indicated that the average N-Gain score for the experimental class reached 72.64%, classified as "quite effective," whereas the control class only reached 33.29% (classified as "ineffective"). The hypothesis testing results showed a significance value of 0.050 at the 5% significance level, leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis (H₀) and acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (Hₐ). Thus, it can be concluded that the use of the Quthrub application is quite effective in improving the Understanding of the students at Az-Zainiyyah Islamic Boarding School, Banyakan Kediri, through understanding Tasrif Lughowi.
