Abstract
Ni'mah, Nur Imnin. 2015 "The Effectiveness of Using Guided Question to Increase Students' Writing Skill in Recount Text", Thesis, Tarbiyah, English Departement, The State College for Islamic Studies at Kediri, Advisors: (1) Dr. Ary Setya Budhi Ningrum, M. Pd (2) Sri Wahyuni M. Pd Keywords: Guided Question, Writing skill, and Recount text This research began from the researcher's willing to realize what she wanted to do. This research had characteristic effectiveness in the variable. It made the researcher does the structural plan in applaying variable toward another variable. The variable is Guided Question method which had influence toward increasing students' writing skill in recount text. By taking Guided Question method and students' writing achievement as the variable was caused the researcher wanted to try appearing a technique in writing expesially in recount text. Because the students were hoped to be able to get easier in studying different habits. The objective of conducting this research was to find out whether the use of Guided Question writing technique was effective in enhancing the students' writing skill to the eleventh grade MA HASAN MUCHYI because that school had good predicate and the score of English experienced upsurge in every years. On the other side, absolutely it permitted as the research place. Guiding Questions is a method that used by the researcher by creating some questions. It is an activity in which the students are guided to express their ideas into the written form by giving them some questions related to the topic which is going to be written by the students, in order to minimize the mistakes made by the students and to help them organize their ideas coherently as long as they follow the questions given by the teacher. The research design of this study is quasi experimental research. The population and the sample of this research are 60 students of MA HASAN MUCHYI in academic year 2014/2015. The instrument of collecting data is giving writing test. Test is given to both classes although experimental and control class are given different treatment. The result of the research has been shown in the research finding and has been discussed that the result of the significance between experimental and control groups, it is acquired that the significance of two tailed was 0,005. It means that pa (0,005<0,050). Based on the result above, the null hypothesis was rejected, and the alternative hypothesis was accepted. Therefore, using Guided Question on students' writing was effective.
