Abstract

DWI FATMAWATI, LENA, 2015. Analysis of Moral Values In Indonesian Fable, English Department, Faculty of Education State College of Islamic Studies (STAIN) Kediri. Advisors: (1) Toyyibah, SS. M.pd. (2) Chothibul Umam, M.Pd. Key terms: Moral values, Character building, Indonesian Fable, Analysis. Moral crisis was spreading and infecting this nation. Moral dimension is closely related to the dimensions of temperament. Every individual has heterogeneous moral judgements. It is also depended on the nature of each individual.Character building for children can be said as the effort to build strong ones. That is also a team effort by adult's guedience therefore children are being required to do many activities. Building character is a full-time job that needs much time such as build strong bodies. There are many ways to build children's character such as through story. For children, story is something that is very interesting. When they are reading the story, they will begin to laugh when there is something funny and will be sad when they read sad story. Therefore, would like to analyze the moral values of the Indonesian fables. This research used descriptive qualitative research and used mimetic and moral approach. This research took Indonesian fable as source of data. Data collection method used documentation method. Analysis data in this research used observation technique. Therefore, researcher made conclusion. This research found some moral values in Elephant and mouse, ostrich and cassowaries, advice of grandfather frog wise, a brave dwarf elephant, and finally squirrel's child is cured fables; a) kind hearted, b) love and affection, c) forgiveness, d) wisdom, e) thankfulness, f) bravery, g) patient, h) cooperativeness. And then Characters building was presented in Indonesian Fable through reflection of fable's moral value found; a) Kind harted moral value can build social care character, b) Cooperativeness moral value can build hard work and creative character, c) Love and affection moral value can build friendly/communicative and tolerance character, d) Thankfulness moral value can build rewarding achievement and religious character, e) Patient moral value can build love peace character, f) Wisdom moral value can build social care character, g) Bravery moral value can build social care character.
