Abstract

Diannita, Onnei Juangga, Advisor Dr. H. Fathor Rasyid, M.Pd. and Dra. Nurul Ain, M.Pd.: The Implementation of English for Job Interview at NEPTUNE The International Hotel and Cruise Ship Apprenticeship Program in Kediri, English Department, Tarbiyah, STAIN Kediri, 2015. Key Word: English for job interview, curriculum, material, teaching methods, evaluation. Neptune in Kediri as a non formal educational institute offers education, training program, and professional work which competent in hospitality and cruise ship. It makes students be a master in English especially English for job interview. This present study is aimed to describe the implementation of English for job interview subject at Neptune include: curriculum of institute, material of teacher learning, teaching methods, and teacher's evaluation at Neptune. This research design is descriptive qualitative. The subjects of the research are the English teacher and the learning process of Neptune in period 2015. The instruments to collect the data are observation sheet, interview guide, camera, and video. The data analysis was based on three concurrent flows of activities, they were: data reduction, data display, and verification. The results of this study show that the implementation of English for job interview in the Neptune has preached clearly and different with other. The institution made the specific schedule for English for job interview after midterm test. The model of curriculum that refers to the media used is curriculum technical education. The syllabus that had made by the institute show that the Neptune using curriculum based assessment because the results from this curriculum are of direct value to the teacher in planning instruction. The materials of English for job interview are Hobbies and Personality, Application Letter and Curriculum Vitae, Preparation on Job Interview, and Question and Answer in Job Interview. The teaching methods in English for job interview are Communicative Language Teaching (CLT). CLT in the English for job interview is very important for the student to improve their soft skill. In CLT the main actor of the class is the student itself. The evaluation system in Neptune is simple. Oral test with interview is appropriate with the material that had preached.
