Debate Some English students have difficulties to produce spoken language. The reason is limitation in mastering the component of speaking. Besides, students practice speaking English rarely. They only have a little chance to practice speaking English out of class because most of their friends speak Indonesian. And also they felt shy and too afraid making any mistakes when they speak in public. Students in MA SUNAN KALIJOGO considered that speaking is the most difficult aspect than other. Because English teacher there never asks students to practice speaking in front, in speaking activity the teacher just ask them to memorizing vocabularies and reviewing their knowledge about vocab. So, the researcher is interested in conducting a study about teaching speaking using SGD method for the students of class IPA I of MA SUNAN KALIJOGO. And this research was conducted to find out the improvement of students speaking skill at class IPA I MA SUNAN KALIJOGO by using SGD method. The research design of this study is collaborative classroom action research (CAR) in which the researcher was assisted by a collaborator in conducting this research. The subject of this research is class IPA 1 of MA SUNAN KALIJOGO. The procedures of the research consist of four main steps: planning, acting, observing and reflecting. To collect were data, the researcher did observation, interview, questionnaire and test. The instruments that used in this research are observation checklist, test, scoring guide and the schedule of research. In this research, the researcher did 3 cycles that consists of two meetings in each cycle. In cycle I which was conducted on April 27th and April 29th, the average score of the first cycle in first meeting was 58, 37% and the second meeting was 60, 81%. Even though there is improvement but this research was not successful yet because it did not reach the criterion of minimum completion is 75%. So the researcher conducting cycle 2 with change some implementation ways in order to reach the criterion of minimum completion. Cycle 2 was conducted on May 4th and May 6th. And the average score of the second cycle in first meeting was 66, 27% % and the second meeting was 70, 46%%. From those score indicate that the criterion of minimum completion was not achieved and the researcher still found some students who shy to speak in front. Then the cycle 3 was conducting in order to get the criterion of minimum completion is 75% and make success this research. Cycle 3 was conducted on May 11th and May 13th. In the last cycle the average score of the first cycle in first meeting was 72, 79% % and the second meeting was 76, 62%. From those meeting it can be seen that this research was reaching the citerion of minimum completion. Not only that, the student"s activeness also improved during the teaching and learning process
