Firdausi Kohar, Tomi, 2015. The Effectiveness of Using Think Pair and Share in Teaching Reading Comprehension. Advisors (1) Dr. Fathor Rasyid, M.Pd (2) Moh. Muhyidin, M.Pd,. Key Words: Reading Achievement, Think Pair and Share Technique. There are many problems faced by teacher in teaching reading process. Especially in choosing strategy. The title of this research is "The Effectiveness of Using Think Pair and Share in Teaching Reading Comprehension". In this research, the researcher wants to know the effectiveness of using Think Pair and Share as one of strategy in teaching reading comprehension. The objective of this study is to know whether Think, Pair, and Share is effective to increase students achievement in reading comprehension at MTsN Puncu. The population of this study is the second grade of MTsN Puncu Kediri in academic year 2013/2014. The sampling process was no randomized sampling. The researcher took VIII E as experimental group and VIII F as control group. The experimental group taught by using Think Pair and Share technique, while the control group taught without Think Pair and Share technique. The instruments used for measuring achievement was a test. The researcher administrated two kinds of test. They were pre-test and post-test on both experimental and control group. And the score of the test were calculated by using ANCOVA through SPSS 16.00 for windows. The result of the statistical computation of ANCOVA reveals that significant at (p) .000 < 0.05 level. Since the significant value was smaller than than 0.05, statically there was enough evidence to accept the H₁, then the Ho was rejected. It means that the students who were taught by using Think Pair and Share had significantly better skill on reading on descriptive text than the students who were not taught by using Think Pair and Share.
