Key Word: Vocabulary Mastery, Word Structure and Reading Comprehension This study examines the relationship between students' vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension. Vocabulary in this study refers to the learners' knowledge of word structure consistening of root, suffix and prefix, and it is considered to be an important predictor of reading comprehension. The students who study vocabulary have known more about word formation or spesific meaning. In addition, They can increase their brain underlying concept of complex words and increasing their knowlegde of word formation prosess and part of speech. This research is used quantitative method, to correlate between vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension. This research uses test to measure the vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension. Vocabulary mastery was measured using word structure test. The test is about root, suffix and prefix. The mean of the word structure test is 81.40, and the mode is 80. The interval between the highest of word structure and the fewer score is 76. Reading comprehension was measured using a narrative text of test. The mean of the test is 76.60 and the mode is 76. After being tested using product moment correlation coefficient formula and SPSS methods, the result shows that value of the correlation between vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension is 0.423 with the sig value is 0.007 it means that the correlation coefficient directs to a positive value, in addition, the correlation is a positive correlation. Positive correlation is a direct relationship where the amount of one variable increase, the amount of a second variable also increases. The correlation between students' vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension the variable is strong. The result also shows the sig 0.007. So, Ha is rejected because the coefficient correlation level is in 0.41-0.70. This means that there is correlation between the vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension. From this result, the vocabulary will be better, the better reading comprehension, they also will be able to develop their reading comprehension.
