Abstract
Rifai, Teguh. 2025. Content Analysis on English Textbook “BAHASA INGGRIS Life Today for SMA/MA Class XII” Implemented in Merdeka Curriculum. Thesis. Keywords : Content Analysis, Textbook, Merdeka Curriculum With the guidelines included in Merdeka curriculum, it is important for a textbook used to be in conformity with the base competence, listed in the current curriculum and rubric assessment from education national tends to analize standard board, BSNP. In this research, the writer will to analize the content of textbook used in the twelfth grade senior high school with the title "BAHASA INGGRIS Life Today For SMA/MA Kelas XII" in 2022 published by Ministry of Education and Culture of Indonesia to find out whether it fulfills the requirement in current Merdeka curriculum. This research used descriptive qualitative research design by using document analysis or content analysis. This research aimed to find out the quality of this English textbook from the criteria of a good English textbook proposed by Mukundan et al. (2011). The writer used descriptive qualitative to analyze, interpret and report the data provided in the textbook. In collecting the data, this research used checklist as the instrument. The findings indicate that the textbook demonstrates a strong structural foundation in presenting integrated language skills and relevant 21st-century themes. Based on the result and analysis of the research, it can conclude that the English textbook entitled “BAHASA INGGRIS Life Today” (Ed. 2022) was categorized “good” by achieving the score of unit 1 is 141= 92.7%, Unit 2 is 108=94%, Unit 3 is 144=94% and Unit 4 is 144=94.7%. It aligns moderately well with the Merdeka Curriculum’s aims, particularly through the inclusion of project-based activities. Although it cannot meet the criteria perfectly, this textbook is worthy to be used as a learning resource, both as a main source and as an additional source.
