Abstract
This research was motivated by the difficulties students face in understanding Arabic texts and the limited use of Wordwall as a learning medium in teaching maharah qiro’ah. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using the Wordwall digital media in improving the reading skills (maharah qiro’ah) of seventh grade students at MTsN 1 Kota Kediri. The method used in this study is quantitative with a true experimental design, specifically the pretest-posttest control group design. The sample consisted of 50 students divided into two groups: the experimental group using Wordwall media and the control group using conventional methods. Data were collected through tests and documentation, using multiple-choice questions validated by experts. The research results show a significant increase in maharah qiro’ah scores in the experimental group after learning with Wordwall. This is evidenced by an increase in the average pretest score from 82.4 to 93.6 in the posttest, and an N-Gain Score of 65.7, which falls into the medium category. Based on these findings, it is concluded that the Wordwall digital media is effective in enhancing basic level reading skills, and its use should be further developed to improve higher-level reading skills.
