Advisors: (1) Dr. Dewi Nur Suci, S.S., M.Pd. and (2) Ossa Bodhi Tala Sumanto, M.A. Keywords: Podcast on Spotify application, speaking skills, students’ experiences, challenges. Modern education requires the growth of technological innovations, particularly in the fields of teaching and learning foreign languages, especially English. EFL students can use Podcast on Spotify application as a learning media selection strategy in English speaking classes. The purpose of this study is to find out EFL students’ experiences, and challenges students face in using Podcast on Spotify applcation as media to learning speaking. The design in this research is descriptive qualitative method. This method is chosen because it is appropriate for data analysis and provides clear information in a narrative manner. The subject of this study were students at State Senior High School 1 of Grogol, Kediri in classes XI-11 and XI-7 with the total70 students. To collect the data researcher did observation, used questionnaire, and interviews. The result showed that students in English speaking classes have several experiences and challenges in using Podcast on Spotify application. The experiences obtained from using Podcast in Spotify application in speaking lessons such as making students speaking class more interesting, understanding students English new vocabulary, motivating students to practice more English speaking skills, and the last is obtained by students is helping students’ more fluent in pronunciation. Additionally, some students experinced challenges faced in using Podcast as media in learning English speaking skills, namely difficulty in understanding speaker's accent, difficulty in understanding the grammar, and difficulty in understanding speaker’s pronunciation. However, the challenges faced by some students did not become an obstacle for students to improve their speaking skills by using Podcast on Spotify application. As a result, Podcast on Spotify application appeared to be reliable as a media for learning speaking. And Podcast on Spotify application hence, this application can be an alternative media by teachers as a good way to help students.
