Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas Tahfidz dan kelas Sains MTs Sunan Ampel Pare dalam menyelesaikan soal tipe HOTS. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatakan kualitatif jenis studi kasus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII sains dan tahfidz MTs Sunan Ampel Pare. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan ada dua yaitu instrumen utama adalah peneliti sendiri sedangkan instrumen pendukun berupa tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah tipe soal HOTS dan pedoman wawancara yang sudah divalidasi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu tes, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan metode Miles dan Huberman meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan , dengan pengecekan keabsahan data melalui triangulasi sumber data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa kelas Sains dan Tahfidz dengan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis tinggi (Sains 21%, Tahfidz 25%) dapat menyelesaikan soal HOTS pada level C4,C5, dan C6 meskipun ada beberapa kesalahan perhitungan. Siswa dengan kemampuan sedang (Sains 71%, Tahfidz 50%) mampu memenuhi indikator awal seperti read, explore, dan select a strategy, namun kesulitan pada level C5 dan C6, karena keterbatasan waktu. Siswa dengan kemampuan rendah (Sains 8%, Tahfidz 25%) secara umum hanya dapat mememnuhi indikator read dan explore dan tidak mampu menyelesaikan soal HOTS pada level C4, C5, dan C6. This study aims to find out and describe the mathematical problem-solving ability of students in Tahfidz class and Science class MTs Sunan Ampel Pare in solving HOTS type problems. This study uses a qualitative approach of the case study type. The subject of this study is a grade VIII student of science and tahfidz MTs Sunan Ampel Pare. There are two research instruments used, the main instrument is the researcher himself, while the supporting instruments are in the form of a HOTS question-type problem-solving ability test and interview guidelines that have been validated. The data collection techniques used are tests, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques using the Miles and Huberman method include data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions based on it, by checking the validity of the data through triangulation of data sources. The results showed that students in the science class had high (21%), medium (71%), and low (8%) mathematical problem-solving skills, while in the high (25%), medium (50%), and low (25%), tahfidz classes. Students with high abilities can identify problems, choose strategies, calculate, and conclude well, and are able to solve HOTS questions at levels C4, C5, and C6. Students with medium abilities are quite capable at the C4 level, while students with low abilities are only able to identify basicproblems and difficulties at levels C4, C5, and C6
