Abstract
Significant changes have been implemented at the university level in terms of strategy, curriculum, and learning media to modernize educational operations. Rapid advances in artificial intelligence (AI) have profoundly influenced various sectors, including education. This study aims to explore students' perceptions of AI's impact on their English skills and their views on AI's role in enhancing English language competencies. By examining students' attitudes, beliefs, and experiences, the research seeks to provide insights into the effectiveness, challenges, and implications of integrating AI into language learning. This study employs a quantitative research design, utilizing surveys to collect data from English learners who actively engage with AI. A total of 136 participants, comprising 45 university students, 45 students from English courses, and 46 senior high school students, were selected from diverse educational backgrounds and language proficiency levels to ensure a broad range of perspectives. Data were processed using SPSS and Google Forms for tabulation, with both qualitative and quantitative analyses applied to interpret the results. The findings reveal that a majority of participants view AI positively as a supportive tool for improving English language skills. They recognize AI's potential to enhance innovative language learning methods and express a desire for its increased integration into educational practices. The study also highlights the ease of use, accessibility, and attractiveness of AI systems from the students' perspectives. Moreover, AI is seen as a catalyst for curriculum innovation and a promoter of advanced English language skills. These results underscore the importance of incorporating AI into language education to align with modern technological advancements and meet educational goals.
