Abstract

Reading is a process to gain information and knowledge, a way to increase student's achievement and it is one of the language skill that is crucial for students in learning English as a foreign language. Certaintly, as a teacher should be innovative to teach and make the students interest for reading. Technology digital increas highly in all social aspect of life. The rapid growth of digital impact in education. Teacher must have strategies to motivate the students to engenders student’s interest and student's need in teaching and learning process. The growth of digital caused most of students like using digital for reading and learning using digital resources. Digital reading resources is a reading from screen using digital device and sources that supports student's reading to achieve the learning's goal. The purpose of this study is to find out the type of digital resources used in teaching reading comprehension and to describe the implementation of digital reading resources in teaching reading comprehension at SMA Negeri 1 Nganjuk. This study used a qualitative research design and the data was analyzed descriptively . The subject of this research was English teacher and students of twelfth grade MIPA 1 of SMA Negeri 1 Nganjuk that consist of 35 students. During the data collection process, the researcher did observation, interview, and documentation. The researcher was analyzed the data used the techniques of data reduction, data display, and verification. The result of this study reveals that the teacher used more than one type of digital reading resources in teaching reading comprehsion. The digital reading resources that is used by the teacher are educational website and online educational platform that can be accessed by the students using the digital devices. The implementation of the digital reading resources in teaching reading comprehension applied by the teacher is using some procedures there are pre-reading, while reading, and post-reading. From the result, the researcher concludes that the implementation of digital reading resources is good and useful.
