Abstract

This research investigated the correlation among students’ reading anxiety, students reading habit and reading comprehension, the tenth grade students of SMAN 1 Kandat and focus on their reading anxiety, reading habit activities and reading comprehension. This research generally answered three questions. The objectives of this research are: 1) to find out significant correlation between Students’ Reading Anxiety and Reading Comprehension, 2) to find out significant correlation between Students’ Reading Habit and Reading Comprehension, 3) to find out significant correlation among Students’ Reading Anxiety, Students’ Reading Habit and Reading Comprehension. The research uses research design Correlation .The analysis method used in this study was quantitative. The subjects in this research were the first grade students of SMAN 1 Kandat total 336 students and 95 students for the sample. The data was collected using two kinds the questionnaire and the multiple choice test. To analysis the correlation, researcher used Spearman Rank formula with SPSS ver. 26.0 for windows. After analyzing data it found that between all the variables have significant (sig.) value less than < 0.05. While coefficient Correlation between reading anxiety and reading comprehension was -.212, while reading habit and reading comprehension was 0.281. based on the result above between all the variables there were a significant correlation and Ha should be accepted while Ho is rejected. It can be conclude that there is any correlation among reading anxiety, reading habit and reading comprehension. Based on this research, it can be said when students have a low level on reading comprehension, means they have a higher anxiety and low reading habit. In the other hand when students have high level on reading comprehension means they have low anxiety and high reading habit.
