Abstract

The world is now facing the Covid-19 pandemic. The pandemic affects all of human life aspects including education. The activity of school is now changed to online learning at home. In this situation, parents should be able to play a role as children's learning companions at home. This also makes parents strengthen their involvement/contribution in supporting their children’s education. The aim of this research is to find out the extents of parental involvement towards their children’s English online learning during the covid-19 pandemic. To collect the data for this research, the researcher used descriptive quantitative method by distributing online questionnaire. The respondents of the questionnaire were 78 parents of seventh-grade students at Junior High School 1 Ngasem. The validity of the research instrument was tested by the correlation product moment and the reliability of the research instrument was tested by Alpha Cronbach. The result of the study shows that most of parents have a very good involvement towards children’s English online learning during the covid-19 pandemic. The indicators of parent as teacher is 69.38%, parent as facilitator is 74.77%, parent as motivator is 73.32% and parent as controller is 89.61%.
