Abstract
Writing is one of the English skills which is considered as an active and productive skill. Writing is also an activity of expressing one ideas, thoughts, and information into written language. Writing is one of the language skill learned of MTs N 1 Kota Blitar. In fact, most students have problems writing descriptive text, so that the writing activities of students at MTs N 1 Kota Blitar require constant experience and practice. The use of technology in writing learning media can be a very effective tool in help the students develop their writing skill of MTs N 1 Kota Blitar. The purpose of this study is to know how Canva can be used to improve the student’s writing skill and the advantages and disadvantages of using Canva in learning English of MTs N 1 Kota Blitar. This study was conducted at VIII excellent class of MTs N 1 Kota Blitar in the 2022/2023 academic year. This research method using descriptive qualitative research. on the based of this method, in this research the researcher describes and interprets the object according to the data obtained from observation, Field notes, interview guide, and docomentation. The result of this research, Canva focuses on graphic design, but currently Canva also provides useful educational features for teaching and learning activities in the classroom. Canva can be a good solution for teacher as a teaching and learning media of MTs N 1 Kota Blitar. Increase student motivation. Students can experience greater enjoy and engagement in learning. Increase student creativity. Canva offer a wide variation of templates, fonts, images and other design elements that students can use to create a visually appealing look for their writing. Makes the student’s easy to find new ideas. Canva has an extensive image search feature, so students can easily find images that are relevant to the topic they are about writing project. This can help them get inspiration and new ideas in writing.
