Abstract

Victoria and Abdul Movie (2017) by Shrabani Basu is an American biographical and historical movie. This movie tells the true story of British Queen Victoria who lived in 1875 and Abdul, a servant of Queen Victoria who came from India. The author uses movies in his research, because movies are a very capable medium for studying politeness. The purpose of this research is to find out the types of politeness strategies used by the main characters in the Victoria and Abdul movie.
