Ismiyanto, Nuning Islamiyati, 2022, An Analysis on Educational Moral Values in “Despicable Me 3” Cartoon Movie., English Department, Faculty of Education at IAIN Kediri, Advisors: Bahruddin, S.S., M.Pd., Dewi Nur Suci, S.S., M.Pd. Keywords: Moral Values and Cartoon Movie Moral values are a reflection of the character and religious side inherent in a person. This statement is reinforced by leaprning human moral values that are able to bring positive values to a person and those around him, so they can be sensitive to problems related to social life and encourage them to always behave well. Looking for examples of moral values is easy to get from several sources, one of which is from cartoons that are commonly watched by all people. Film is also known as a spectacle that is quite influential because it is a type of visual communication that is broadcast using moving images filled with sound to tell stories or provide information (as a learning media). Currently, films are one of the most popular media among the public that can be watched easily and efficiently. In this study, researchers will discuss two problems, namely what moral values can be found, and what are the implications of this Despicable Me 3 film for education. The method used in this research is library research, a type of qualitative research, in which data must be interactive and continuous data analysis is carried out until it is deemed sufficient. There are three steps to analyze the data in this study, the first is displaying the data by reading the script over and over, the second is drawing or verification to find conclusions or results from the problem and the last step is data reduction by deleting and reducing data that is not important or invalid for analysis. The findings of the research are the moral values contained in this film according to the Rachel’s theory there are 4 moral values, but in each section there are 10 categories of moral values. In this moral value, the researcher also includes implications for education that can help teachers reflect from this film. The teacher can take, imitate, or teach the moral values contained in the film as an effective learning material so that students do not feel bored because it is accompanied by visually attractive media.
