Abstract

Classroom management is the most essential part of the learning process. Classroom management can make students and instructors carry out class activities well and smoothly. Based on Garrett's theory, classroom management has four aspects: Rules and routines that are carried out by students and instructors when lessons are carried out, a good relationship between students and instructors can make the class atmosphere comfortable and practical, a class design that is appropriate to the subject makes lead behind the mastery of the material to be more effective and the discipline is carried out in the classroom, and the instructor must carry out punishment in the school. This theory is in line with the intended research. The analysis focuses on Garret theory. This analysis aims to discover instructors' problems and strategies in classroom learning activities. The research was conducted in the intensive course class at IAIN Kediri. In the future, instructors and students can understand each other and the importance of respecting and maintaining classroom conditions for effective learning. This research used descriptive qualitative. The instruments of this research are observation and interviews This research instrument can help researchers answer questions about the problems and strategies instructors face during classroom learning. The results of this study is that the teachers use the facilities provided by the campus in learning activities. The problem faced by the instructor during the class, such as the condition of the course, which is close to the main road and make noise, some students do not listen to the instructor, the state of the chairs does not change, and there are still those who cheat during quizzes. The class condition, the situation outside the class, stubborn students, and the arrangement of class seats become obstacles. The problem's various aspects align with the theory used in this study. The instructor makes rules and routines by agreeing with the students; building a good relationship with students can make the class comfortable for sharing opinions; students are given disciplinary action to provide a deterrent effect so students do not repeat the same mistakes, changing class seats for subjects that require intensity in a general form.
