Abstract

This research aims to develop an integrated pictorial vocabulary dictionary for tenth grade students of Office Management and Business Service program of SMKN 2 Kediri. The research problems formulated are: 1) What is the appropriate integrated pictorial dictionary for tenth-grade students of Office Management and Business Service program at SMK Negeri 2 Kediri, 2) How to develop the product, and 3) How is the feasibility of the product as seen from aspects of the content, language, and appearance of the dictionary. Research and Development (R&D) method ADDIE model is used in this research. Through this research, the researcher applied five stages, namely need analysis, product design and drafting, final product development and validation, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects of this study were 36 students of class X-MPLB 2 of SMKN 2 Kediri in the academic year 2022/2023. In the needs analysis, observations and questionnaires were distributed and teacher interview was conducted. The data from the needs analysis was analysed by examining the percentage of each statement. Meanwhile, the data from the observation and interview was interpreted. The results show that the product according to the needs is an integrated pictorial vocabulary dictionary to improve vocabulary related to majors. Then, from the validation results, it was found that the average score for the product was 4.62. This indicates that the product is very good and feasible. In the product implementation, user judgment questionnaire and interview were used. The result of the user judgment questionnaire was 4.29 or excellent. It can be concluded that an integrated pictorial vocabulary dictionary for tenth grade students of Office Management and Business Service program received a good response and able to help students to master vocabulary.
