Abstract
The purpose of this study is to see if field trip method can improve students' ability to write descriptive texts. This study employed the Classroom Action Research research design (CAR). The research was carried out in a one cycle that included planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study are 8H students from SMPN 1 Gampengrejo Kediri. Researcher collect data through observation, tests, and documentation. This study has been approved by the English teacher at SMPN 1 Gampengrejo Kediri. According to the findings of this study, field trip method can help eighth grade students at SMPN 1 Gampengrejo Kediri improve their ability to write descriptive text. The mean or average performance on the pre and post tests for cycle 1 provided by students indicates this. Cycles 1 has an average pretest score of 60,13 and an average posttest score of 80,27. Field trip method has been shown to improve students' ability to write descriptive texts.
