Abstract

Basic education is form of elementary school (SD) and Islamic elementary schools (MI) or other equivalent form, as well as the Junior high School (SMP) and Islamic junior secondary school (MTs) or other forms are equal. Basic education aims to give stock the ability basis to students to develop as a private life, community members, citizens and members of the human then prepare students to continue secondary education. So that basic education is considered as Depdiknas has been promoting the compulsory 9 (Nine) years. Curriculum of Islamic elementary school (MI) is equal to the curriculum in elementary school (SD), but in Islamic elementary schools (MI) more servings many of the Islamic Education. Beside to teaching subjects as elementary school (SD), MI also added with the lessons such as: Quran Hadith, Akhidah Akhlaq, Fiqh, Islamic History and Culture Arabic. Materials of Islamic education between elementary school (SD) with students from Islamic elementary schools (MI) are very different. Madrasah is more superior in the field of religion, but Madrasah the quality is still low compared to Public Schools. This is because many of institutions Madrasah existed as Madrasah Private. Based on this background the writer are interested in conducted a study titled “The Comparative Study Students Achievement of English Subject graduated from Elementary School (SD) and Islamic elementary schools (MI) at seventh grades of SMP Negeri 1 Mojo”. The purpose of this study was conducted to determine whether or not differences student achievement from elementary school (SD) and Madrasah Elementary School (MI) on the subjects of English Education at seventh grades at SMP Negeri 1 Mojo. The research was conducted in SMP Negeri 1 Mojo. Research uses a quantitative approach and this method of research is Independent statistic, with the draft comparative study. It is a research methodology in the social sciences that aims to make comparisons between different achievements. Uses a quantitative approach. A technique of data collection is done through tried out and test achievement. With the procedure as follows, firstly make the test of try out with look from validity (SK and KD) in seventh grades at one semester, secondly count the result of try out with item analysis, after that give the result of selection try out to other class and the result we can count with t test by SPSS. According to the result of the research which is concluded that the average student achievement graduated from elementary school (SD) on the English Subject at seventh grades at SMP Negeri 1 Mojo are 76.02. While students who graduated from Islamic elementary schools (MI) is 75.53. Values of both are quite good and fulfilled of the KKM is 70. After the analysis using t-test with result 0,268 and t table = 2.0017, it mean there no difference between student achievement from elementary school (SD) and Madrasah Elementary School (MI) on the English subjects at seventh grades at SMP Negeri 1 Mojo, because t test < t table.
