Abstract
This study is carried out the types, most dominant type and possible reason of code mixing. The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the types of code-mixing between English and Indonesian on Quora's answer. It classifies into three types : intra sentential, intra lexical, and involves a change of pronunciation. Furthermore, it also analyzes the possible reasons behind the authors to mix the code in their writing. This study uses qualitative methods to analyze the types and possible reasons for code mixing. The results of this study revealed the types of code mixing : 18 data entirely are intra sentential code mixing. So, intra sentential code mixing is dominant as well as the only type of code mixing that occured in Quora's answers. Second, possible reason to mixed the code, there are sixteen data included in talking about a particular topic, five data included in repetition used for clarification, fourteen data are included in the possible reason expressing group identity. So, talking about a particular topic is the dominant possible reason that writers use to mixed their writing on Quora answers.
