Abstract

Keywords: Teaching, Speaking, Pronunciation, Dubbing, Video Speaking is one of English skill as well as reading, listening, also writing. In some situation, speak English becomes a difficult thing for some learners. One of their problem may happen in the pronunciation. Pronunciation is the result of producing speech sounds including articulation, accent, and vocal formation style. In speaking, the speaker should to know how to pronounce the word correctly. Nowdays, technology in general or multimedia in particular has important role in education to make teachers and students learn easily. Therefore, the researcher try to use Video Dubbing in teaching pronunciation. This research conducted to know the different between students who are taught using Video Dubbing and those who are taught not using Video Dubbing Burston in (Vivy Zunny: 2014) states that video Dubbing offers an excellent opportunity to develop the skills of foreign language, especially speaking learner at all linguistics level. Dubbing is the technique through which the original dialogues of feature films or television programmer are replaced by new dialogues, translated, and adapted for the purpose of enabling viewers to understand audiovisual material produced in foreign languages. The result of this research found that the good in teaching pronunciation by using Video Dubbing are: 1) Video dubbing can help the students to reduce some mispronunciation, 2) It helps the students to know a different means of sentence and raise awareness of intonation, 3) The students can improve their fluency by doing the activity, 4) The students linked the pronunciation from written book to the actual action, 5) They become more enthutiastic to pay attention during the learning process. This result shows that the students who taught by using Video Dubbing have better ability in pronunciation than those who are taught not using it.
