Istamala, Adinda Ayu. 2022. Correlation Between Listening English Songs Habit and Students’ Vocabulary Mastery at Senior High School. Faculty of Tarbiyah, State Institute of Islamic Studies (IAIN) Kediri. Advisors: (1) Dr. Sri Wahyuni, M. Pd. (2) Muhammad Afifi, S.Hum., M.Pd. Key Words: Listening English Songs Habit, Vocabulary Mastery, Correlation Normally, students who have listening English songs habit are easy to mastering a large vocabulary. Vocabulary is the main facility for composing sentences and speak fluently. There are many reasons why vocabulary must be taught first, for example, vocabulary is easy to understand and learn because there are no rules or formulas that students need to know such as when learning grammar besides vocabulary is a supporter of the four skills. This study uses a correlational design, the researcher uses questionnaire for the listening English songs habit and test for vocabulary mastery. The data has been obtained by giving the test and questionnaire to students in class X SMAN 7 Kediri. The test was followed by 123 students. The results of this study indicate that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. The result of correlation by using rank spearman formula shows that the coefficient of correlation is r = 0.976, and the r table for 123 samples is 0.195. It means that the hypothesis r = 0.976 > r-table = 0.195 is accepted (Ha). The correlation coefficient of the study above shows positive correlation between listening English songs habit and vocabulary mastery. From the result of the correlation calculation, it can be seen that the value of correlation is 0.976 which is interpreted as a positive correlation at a moderate level. In this case that students' habit of listening to English songs has a moderate relationship or give an influence on student's vocabulary mastery.
