Abstract

Suitability book “Tadris Al – Arabiyah Al – Mukaśśaf” According the Theories William Francis Mackey (Content Analysis). Thesis, Depaterment of Arabic Language Education, Faculty of Tarbiyah. The State Islamic Institute (IAIN) of Kediri. 2022. Key Word: Text Book, The theory of William Francis Mackey. Tadris Al-Arabiyah Al- Mukaśśaf Textbooks are an arrangement of teaching materials consisting of several materials and also one of the most important elements in a learning process. With textbooks, it is hoped that students can learn in the classroom and outside the classroom. The author wants to know the contents of the book "Tadris Al-Arabiyah Al-Mukaśśaf" using the theory of William Francis Mackey which has 4 principles of book analysis, namely material selection, material grading, material presentation and material ordering. The problem formulations of this research are: 1) How is the selection, gradation, presentation and repetition of material in the book "Tadris Al-Arabiyah Al-Mukaśśaf" with the theory of William Francis Mackey? 2) What are the advantages and disadvantages of the book "Tadris Al-Arabiyah Al-Mukaśśaf"? The type of research used in this research is library research, the data collection method uses the documentation method and the analytical method used is content analysis which means a research method to understand a text. The results obtained from the study show that: 1) The selection of the material for the book "Tadris Al - Arabiyah Al-Mukaśśaf has fulfilled the selection aspect according to Mackey, it's just that there is no clear learning objective and time allocation. 2) The gradation of the material by grouping the material is in accordance with daily activities, while the ordering of this book has met the standardization based on the studnt ability. 3) There are four aspects of presenting the material, namely differentiation procedures, ostensive procedures, pictorial procedures and context procedures, but this book does not use differentiation procedures because the qowaid material uses Arabic, and also does not use ostensive procedures 4) The repetition of the material in this book has fulfilled three aspects of the four aspects of repetition according to Mackey, while one aspect of repetition is not found in this book, namely the listening material. The advantages of this book are that there are many different topics, the material is presented in simple language then there is language skills material and rules for each subject and exercises vary throughout the lesson to confirm students' knowledge after their lesson. Apart from the advantages, this book also has some disadvantages: There are no basic competencies and standards of competence in each subject, There is no listening and practice material and Books do not use modern technology in learning.
